Amanda Burch

Scenic Designer

Amanda Burch is a New York City-based scenic designer and a senior in Fordham University’s Theater program, specializing in scenic and production design. With a passion for storytelling and a keen eye for creating immersive environments, Amanda combines artistic vision with technical precision to bring theatrical productions to life.

At Fordham Theater, Amanda has built a strong portfolio of work, designing and collaborating on a diverse range of productions, including Indecent, Kodachrome, and Rhinoceros. Her ability to create compelling and cohesive designs has made her a vital contributor to the creative process for new works and classic plays alike.

In the summer of 2024, Amanda further developed her skills during an internship with Hudson Theatrical Associates under the mentorship of Neil Mazella. There, she gained hands-on experience with responsibilities like crew scheduling and budgeting and contributed as a production assistant on the Broadway show Oh Mary.

She also had the opportunity to participate in production meetings for Our Town, Maybe Happy Ending, and Sunset Blvd., gaining insights into the collaborative nature of Broadway design and production.

Amanda’s background in graphic design and photography enhances her approach to scenic design, allowing her to create visually compelling spaces with attention to detail. Additionally, her 18 years of ballet training instilled a deep appreciation for movement, performance, and storytelling, which continue to influence her creative work.

Her work is characterized by creativity, collaboration, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Amanda thrives on contributing meaningfully to the dynamic world of theater design, creating spaces that captivate and inspire audiences.
