Boone Sommers

ACTOR

Boone Sommers is a New York based theater artist with interests in both acting and scenic design. Starting his acting journey at his local Children’s Theater in Knoxville, TN at the age of ten, Boone has been invested in theatrical performance for the better part of his life. He gravitates toward work that allows for boldness in both meaning and style. Taking characters that allow for transformative physicality or detailed self reflection. He believes that his characters should encourage audiences to have pride in the parts of themselves that they deem ugly, unpredictable, and overly-specific.

On top of his development as an actor, Boone has spent his time at Fordham University discovering a new passion for scenic design and carpentry. He is the son of a woodworker and has always taken great pride in the fact that his father is a man who works with his hands to produce objects of beauty. He continues this lineage through his frequent work as a scenic carpenter both regionally and off-Broadway as well as his developing work as a scenic designer at Fordham University.

His primary artistic goal is to lead a life in which he maintains the pursuit of theatrical truthfulness through acting and design, and the craft of carpentry through his builds both on and off of the stage.
