Katie Bartlett

Costume Designer

Katie Bartlett is a New York based costume designer, stitcher, and crafter originally from Chicago. Her passion for costumes began when she was young with a collection of Disney princess dresses, a production of Fiddler on the Roof Jr, and a babysitter who taught her how to sew. She has developed her skills at Fordham University where she received a BA in Theater with a concentration in costume design and minors in Visual Arts and Fashion Studies.

Katie’s designs are fueled by a love for dress up and the belief that when a performer puts on the right costume they can fully embody their character. This belief has driven Katie in her design process, diving deep into the world and characters of every show in order to create costumes that speak to who each character is in relation to their world. She thrives in a collaborative environment, working with the whole team in order to create something magical and true to the story that is being told.

Katie also loves the physical act of making costumes and art, and she is always excited to learn new skills. She learned to sew at the age of six and has not stopped since. She brings this understanding of the making of costumes into her designs, allowing her to incorporate her signature sense of whimsy into each project.
